Guide to our T-shirt printing services

If you know what you want already or can’t be bothered reading through all these words then we totally understand. Please just give us a call or drop us a message and we’ll do everything we can to help you.

We offer a number of services and the best one for you depends on a few different factors. For larger quantities we usually suggest screen printing as this method produces a high quality finish and is the most durable form of printing.

In terms of how we work out prices when using the screen printing process, we factor in the number of colours in your design(s), how many T-shirts or other garments you are having printed and the number of locations you want printing. So in other words, the more you have printed and the fewer colours you use the lower your cost per shirt. The reason for this ‘sliding scale’ in our printing prices is that the largest amount of time is spent preparing the job and the more colours then the more preparation time is required. Similarly, if you want both the front and back, for instance, of your T-shirts printing then the set-up time is increased. Many of our customers are surprised by how dramatically prices can come down per shirt by increasing the numbers only marginally so please be sure to ask.

The ideal format for supplying your artwork to us is in a vector based file type, so something like Adobe Illustrator or a vector .eps file. If you are sending .jpgs or bmps it helps if you can send fairly large files so that when we convert the file here to a usable format then no loss of quality occurs. If this sounds like technical nonsense then please just give us a call – we are here to make things as easy as possible for our customers.

In addition to screen printing, we do full colour transfer printing which we use for a lot of smaller quantity jobs which would otherwise work out too expensive. We can work from most file types when we use this process but it really helps us to get the best possible results if the file is quite large (in technical speak the higher the resolution the image is the better your picture on your T-shirts). We will of course let you know if there are any problems with your file before we start printing – we hope that you are more than happy with any work you send our way and will do anything we can to ensure this.

The other main form of printing we do is heat transferred vinyl. This process is often chosen when each T-shirt is to have a different name or number on, for instance. So if you want staff names on shirts we would usually choose this method or if you are having nicknames for stag or hen party T-shirts then this is often the best choice. This process uses a CAD cutter, which cuts out the letters and images from a roll of special vinyl and these letters and shapes are then applied to your T-shirts using a high temperature heat press for a pre-determined length of time.

The processes described above are suitable not only for T-shirts but also for personalised hoodies, sweatshirts, polo shirts, vests and more. Please have a browse through the site to see what else we offer or just give us a call for some friendly advice.

We hope this guide is useful, but please don’t feel you need to have any knowledge of our industry to get the very best printed T-shirts from us. Our aim is to make your life as simple as possible when ordering from us and to provide a T-shirt printing service that exceeds your expectations. We look forward to hearing from you.
